Meet the WRI team

The WRI team is made up of unpaid volunteers and professional services.

Board of directors

The following Members oversee the day-to-day management of the institute and are responsible for seeking and developing research projects that strategically fit within the WRI objectives and are compliant with the ACNC regulations.

Philip Warner

Managing Director. 30 years corporate experience as CEO and MD of a public company. Operation of international businesses in new industry and supply chains.

Richard Kluckhohn

Independent Director. With 45 years’ experience in the Australian Defence Force. Expertise in strategic and operational risk management, corporate governance, and the design and implementation of innovative capabilities.

Kylie Warner

Director and Company Secretary. Previously Director Maleny Credit Union volunteering for international Charitable aid organisations. Kylie has had experience with the Boards of various private and public companies.


Our corporate support

Frank Cassells

Accountant and Finance. Fank Cassells, nearly 40 years of experience as a Business Advisor, Chartered Accountant, Tax Strategist and has an understanding of humans.  Frank was fundamental in the practical establishment of Warner Research Institute and obtaining Deductible Gift Recipient Status.

Sarah Davies

Sarah Davies Legal Pty Ltd. Sarah has over 35 years’ experience as a corporate and dispute resolution lawyer. She chaired a mutual banking institution for over 10 years and currently sits on the board of a community foundation, established to promote social, community and environmental projects.

Geoffrey Maclean

Marketing Advisor. 34 years global advertising with Fortune 500, Government and NGO clients. Roles include GM China, GM Indonesia, EVP Asia Pacific, Regional Operations Director EEMEA. Expert in communication technology – CRM, Digital, Social media, e-commerce, AI, VR & AR IoT, 3D mapping and smart cities.


Research committee members

The Research Committee assesses the proposed projects for their scientific and research benefits in line with the WRI Objectives. The Committee is also charged with making sure that the project stays on track through its research phase, is meeting the prescribed criteria, and that the final report is scientifically sound.

Clare Johnston

Over 20 Years Management Experience of research, innovation and technology transfer, in an agricultural R&D Corporation, two Cooperative Research Centre consortia and spin-off genotyping and diagnostics companies. Cross-cutting knowledge of practice, specifications, technologies and issues in a range of industries.

  • Fifteen Years Research Experience in biochemistry, molecular biology and bioscience applications
  • Promoted to Senior Research Scientist at Biotech Australia Pty Ltd

Dr Graham King

Dr Bruce Redman

  • Certificate of Television & Radio Production ABC-TV (3 years F/T traineeship) Diploma in Teaching Qld University of Technology (QUT)
  • 20 years’ experience in NFP operations.
